Supporting Cancer Research and Patients in Central Texas
Tradition
runs deep in Central Texas, forming a bedrock of values for all who live here.
In 1999, a concerned group of Central Texans drew on two traditions -- ranching
and community -- to form Cattlemen for Cancer Research. This coalition of
volunteers, organizations and businesses has created a unique opportunity for
Texans in the agriculture-livestock industry to become personally involved in
improving cancer care by supporting leading-edge cancer research conducted close
to home and providing assistance to cancer patients receiving care at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The Cattlemen for Cancer Research has raised more than $1,100,000 in the past 10 years to support research Programs at the Michale E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research of the UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
