Cattlemen for Cancer Research

About Us

Supporting Cancer Research and Patients in Central Texas

Tradition runs deep in Central Texas, forming a bedrock of values for all who live here. In 1999, a concerned group of Central Texans drew on two traditions -- ranching and community -- to form Cattlemen for Cancer Research. This coalition of volunteers, organizations and businesses has created a unique opportunity for Texans in the agriculture-livestock industry to become personally involved in improving cancer care by supporting leading-edge cancer research conducted close to home and providing assistance to cancer patients receiving care at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

The Cattlemen for Cancer Research has raised more than $1,100,000 in the past 10 years to support research Programs at the Michale E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research of the UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

In addition to providing research funding, a separate dedicated fund aids patients and their families from Williamson, Travis, Lee, Bastrop and Hays counties who may need financial assistance with lodging, meals and similar services while staying in Houston to receive care. In the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor, the committee invites you to join in the fight against cancer by supporting the Cattlemen for Cancer Research Auction.
